It was all hands-on deck on Tuesday 18 July, our team preparing for Mandela Day. We prepared 167 healthy sandwiches with 54 boiled eggs, to be donated to a nearby old age home in honor of Nelson Mandela's legacy of compassion and service to others. The team showed great support and dedication to this year’s Mandela Day.
The sandwiches and eggs were donated to Haven Old Age Home, which is home to 32 senior citizens who were very pleased to receive the donation. The team also spent some time socializing with the humble seniors while visiting the facility. Participating in activities like this not only provides much-needed support to those in need, but also fosters a sense of unity and empathy within the community. #SeartecCares
Mandela Day, celebrated annually on July 18th, encourages people around the world to dedicate 67 minutes of their time to community service, symbolizing the 67 years that Nelson Mandela spent fighting for social justice and equality. It is about showing kindness and giving hope to those who are less fortunate. Mandela Day serves as an inspiration for others to engage in similar acts of kindness and generosity across the world.
Taking from tata Nelson Mandela’s words “there can be no greater gift than that of giving one's time and energy to helping others without expecting anything in return.” Indeed, the Seartec team also enjoyed breaking away from their laptops to showcase other skills in the kitchen #SeartecCares.
